Richa Chadha who impressed the audience with her recent release Panga alongside Kangana Ranaut is all about empowering women yet again with Madam Chief Minister. Richa is going to play a lead role in the movie.
In the Shubhash Kapoor directorial, Richa will essay the role of a chief minister of state. The role is loosely based on the life of former Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh and a prominent political party.
Expressing her thoughts about selecting Madam Chief Minister, the Fukrey actress said, “I was pleasantly surprised to be cast for the titular role in Subhash Sir’s film. I have followed his work since ‘Phans Gaye Re Obama‘, which I enjoyed very much. Madam Chief Minister is one of the most exciting scripts I have read and it possessed me.”
She further added that she is extremely grateful for this opportunity, as it is rare to come across writing and insight like this and it has been the toughest yet most enjoyable working experience for her. She has always believed that more stories of women in leadership roles need to be told and she is glad that she could be a part of one such story.
The major chunk of Madam Chief Minister has been shot in Lucknow. And the film also features Akshay Oberoi, Manav Kaul, and Saurabh Shukla in some pivotal role.
Madam Chief Minister is all set to knock at the Box Office on 17th July 2020.
