Recently, actress Payal Ghosh made some serious allegations against director Anurag Kashyap. She accused the filmmaker of trying to force himself on her. Apart from Kashyap, Ghosh also alleged actresses like Richa Chadha, Mahie Gill, and Huma Qureshi were just a call away from Kashyap for all these activities. However, now, Richa Chadha has taken legal action against Payal Gosh for involving her name in the controversy.
Reacting on all these accusations, Anurag Kashyap refuted all of it. Many actresses like Taapsee Pannu, Radhika Apte, Mahie Gill among others are standing in his support.
After initiating the legal action against Payal, the Fukrey actress took to her social media to share the statement. The statement reads, “Our Client ‘Ms. Richa Chadha’, condemns the act of her name being unnecessarily and falsely dragged in a defamatory manner into controversies and allegations being recently raised by third parties.”
It further reads, “Though our Client believes that genuinely wronged women should get justice at all costs, there are legislations that are intended to ensure that women have an equal standing in their workplace and to ensure that they have a cordial workplace in which their dignity and self-respect is protected.”
“No woman should misuse their liberties to harass other women with unsubstantiated or non-existent, false and baseless allegations. Our Client has initiated appropriate legal action and shall further pursue her legal rights and remedies in law as may be advised in her best interest”, asserts the statement.
The statement has been released by Richa Chaddda’s lawyer, Saveena Bedi Sachar. Payal Ghosh is yet to react to the legal action taken by Richa Chadha.
On the work front, Richa Chadha will be starring in Fukrey 3 alongside her fiancé Ali Fazal and other stars.
