Rhea Chakraborty’s life turned upside down this year. The struggling actress was finding her way in the industry by taking up whatever role she was offered. The death of her boyfriend Sushant Singh Rajput not only left her in deep grief but also made her a villain. She was accused by the whole country and was even arrested in the case. However, after one month in jail, she was released on bail as CBI couldn’t submit proof against her.
Rhea has remained out of the media glare after getting out of jail. She is not even active on her social media account. However, her film might get released online in 2021. The film is titled Chehre. The film stars Amitabh Bachchan and Emraan Hashmi in lead roles. On the other hand, Rhea has a small role in the film.
After the controversy around SSR’s death, it was speculated that Rhea’s role would be cut from the film but the makers have no such plans. A source said, “Luckily not. She has only one film Chehre which she signed because of Sushant’s friendship with Rumi. Rhea plays a small role in the film. The main plot is concerned with the characters played by Bachchan Saab and Emraan Hashmi. Rhea completed her work in Chehre before all her troubles started.”
Rumi Jaffery, the film’s director said, “Rhea cannot and won’t be pushed out of the entertainment industry. I know many filmmakers won’t even consider her for their films.”
It is now reported that the film might be released on Disney Plus Hotstar. A source said, “Chehre has well-known names in its cast like Amitabh Bachchan and Emraan Hashmi. The OTT platform could be looking at the fact that since Chehre also stars Rhea Chakraborty, audience from across the spectrum will be drawn to watch the film for different motives.”
Well, the release date of the film has not been announced yet. But we might expect it to release in a few months.
