Revealed: How Shooting Of Akshay Kumar’s Prithviraj Was Wrapped In Just 42 Days!

Akshay Kumar reveals that the shoot for magnum-opus Prithviraj was wrapped in just 42 days. Says, it was because of the pandemic, otherwise, the film would have been released long back.

The makers of Prithviraj unveiled the trailer of the film at a grand event in Mumbai. With lead actors Akshay Kumar and Manushi Chillar on board, the team discussed and revealed a few interesting things and experiences about the film.

While being asked about the delay caused by the pandemic to the film’s release, the actor, Akshay Kumar opened up and revealed that he completed the film in 42 days only. The actor said, “We finished the film in 42 days. Come on time and leave on time, then the film completes on time. It was because of the pandemic that the film got delayed, otherwise, the film would have been released long back.”

Director Chandrapraksh Dwivedi added, “The best thing about Akshay is that he is a disciplined man. If he commits to a certain time, he is there on time. He doesn’t only do his own work, but also motivates others. It is very convenient to work with Akshay because the film is always completed on time. Even with the crowd of 1500 people, we could finish the shoot on time, only because of Akshay Kumar’s discipline. Even seeing him, other actors on set would follow the discipline and reach the set on time.”

Talking about the film, Akshay said that he has never done such a ‘big historic film’, and when he was told to essay the role of Samrat Prithviraj Chauhan, it was a matter of ‘pride for him’ and he felt that his life was ‘successful.’

The film will star Akshay Kumar in the title role of king Prithviraj Chauhan of the Chauhan dynasty and will revolve around The First Battle of Tarain, in which he faced Muhammad Ghori of the Ghurid dynasty. Former Miss World Manushi Chillar, who is making her Bollywood debut with the film, will star opposite Akshay as Sanyogita. It also stars Sanjay Dutt as Kaka Kanha, Sonu Sood as Chand Bardai, Ashutosh Rana as Jayachandra, and Manav Vij as Muhammad Ghori. Earlier, Prithviraj was scheduled to release in cinemas on Diwali 2020 but was suspended in March 2020 owing to the COVID-19 pandemic in India, due to which the film was indefinitely postponed.

Prithviraj will be released in Hindi, Tamil, and Telugu on June 3 worldwide. Produced by Yash Raj Films, Prithviraj is being directed by Dr. Chandraprakash Dwivedi who directed the biggest television epic Chanakya, based on the life and times of the most influential political strategist of India and the multiple award-winning Pinjar.
