Priyanka Chopra and Nick Jonas announced the arrival of their first child a few hours ago. The global icons took to their social media as they wrote, “We are overjoyed to confirm that we have welcomed a baby via surrogate. We respectfully ask for privacy during this special time as we focus on our family. Thank you so much.”
While the couple didn’t reveal the gender of the baby, the reports claim that it’s a baby girl. An international news portal claims that the baby arrived 12 weeks earlier at a Southern California hospital where she’ll remain until she’s healthy enough to return to Los Angeles with her parents.
Many people are wondering why the couple chose to have a baby via surrogacy. It is quoted that Nick and Priyanka were wanting to have a baby for quite some time but their busy schedule had gotten in the way.
The report further claims, “Priyanka doesn’t have any fertility issues preventing her from having a baby, but she is 39 now, so it’s not getting any easier.”
So, this means, that their busy work schedule was the reason why they opted for surrogacy. An insider said, “Their busy work schedules also mean that it’s difficult for them to physically be together to conceive when she is ovulating, so some time ago they went down the surrogacy route.”
“The baby had been due in April but the surrogate ended up giving birth on Sunday, so she was very premature,” the insider added.
A few weeks ago, there were reports of Nick and Priyanka getting separated. PeeCee had herself rubbished the rumours back then. Moreover, as they are ready to start a new phase of their life as parents, it is evident that they are very much happy together.
