Ranveer Singh Too Had Ugly Early Days In Bollywood, Shares Casting Couch Experience

Ranveer Singh recalled the time when he experienced the casting couch in the early days of his career

Acting and casting couch goes along in the film industry. Few are lucky and are spared of this while making their acting career. Among others one of the top popular actors who fell for the casting couch is Ranveer Singh. He has cemented his career in Bollywood and became a leading actor starting his journey with Band Baja Baaraat.

But he too had crossed the hurdle of casting couch. Recently at the Marrakech International Film Festival Ranveer shared his struggling days in the film industry. He recalled the time when he experienced the casting couch in the early days of his career.

Ranveer remembered when a now-late producer invited him to his residence for a meeting and released his dog on him just for fun. Next time, under the facade of offering him a role in a film he was called to a shady place by someone.

He said, “This guy calls me to this seedy place and is like, ‘Are you a hard worker, or a smart worker?’. I didn’t consider myself to be smart, so I said, ‘I think I’m a hard worker.’ He was like, ‘Darling, be smart, be sexy’. I had all those kinds of experiences during those three-and-a-half years, and I think it was that period that makes me value the opportunities I have now.”

Currently, Ranveer Singh is among the most sought-after Bollywood stars. Recently at the Marrakech International Film Festival, he was honored with the prestigious Etoile d’Or award. He is also invited to attend and represent India at FIFA World Cup Finals In Qatar on December 18.

On the work front, Singh has Karan Johar’s Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani in the kitty. He will share a screen with Alia Bhatt along with Dharmendra, Jaya Bachchan, and Shabana Azmi. in the pipeline he also has Rohit Shetty’s Cirkus set to release on December 23. The film stars Ranveer Singh in a dual role alongside Pooja Hegde, Jacqueline Fernandez, and Varun Sharma.
