Deepika Padukone has made it into the headlines owing to her recent film Chhapaak’s release. The Meghna Gulzar directed film got mixed reviews from the critics and has done an average business at the Box Office.

But moving ahead, Deepika Padukone has got grabbed another feather to put in her hat. In the recent World Economic Forum (WEF) Annual meet 2020 held at Davos in Switzerland, the Bollywood diva bagged the award for her leadership in raising Mental Health Awareness. She won this award for going public about her own vulnerable journey of dealing with depression and anxiety.

On expressing her thoughts on Mental Health, Deepika said that people must understand depression and anxiety are like any other illness and can be treated, and her own experience has encouraged her to work for this cause.

Recalling her experience Deepika said, “My love and hate relationship with this has taught me a lot and I want to tell everyone suffering from this that you are not alone.”

Meanwhile, her ever-supportive husband Ranveer Singh expressed his joy on this news by saying, “You Make Me So Proud.” He commented this adorable message on Deepika’s recent Instagram post in which she has posed with The Crystal Award.

Ranveer Singh has always openly expressed his love for his wife Deepika Padukone, he also stood by her side when she was struggling with her mental health issues. Nevertheless, this couple every time give others major couples goal owing to the beautiful bond they share with each other.

Inspired by her own struggles with mental health, Deepika Padukone started an organization named “The Live Love Laugh Foundation”. This foundation provides awareness programs in schools in India. It also funds for free psychiatric treatment, medical education, and many more campaigns.

This initiative by Deepika Padukone is slowly but steadily breaking the stigmas related to mental health in our Indian society. It is making people release that mental health is something that has to be taken seriously and should be treated at par with physical health.
