Ranbir Kapoor Wishes To Direct A Film, Maybe Wife Alia Can Produce It

Ranbir after making a successful career as an actor produced a film once and now desires to get into a director’s shoes too

Ranbir Kapoor is in the thick ray of the spotlight with multiple life events including movie releases and becoming a father soon after getting married. He has now made a revelation of becoming a director. Returning to the silver screen after four years of Sanju Ranbir Kapoor has confessed his wish to direct a film of a story he wrote during the lockdown. 

The lockdown due to the global pandemic had bonded everyone in the four walls but it also helped to discover a hidden talent. People learned new things while some tried hands on skills that they were so far unaware of. Similarly, Bollywood star Ranbir Kapoor picked a pen and became a writer. He wrote a story during the lockdown phase and now wishes to direct the same. 

Ranbir had previously produced Anurag Basu’s film titled Jagga Jasoos in which he is roped alongside Katrina Kaif. He who is now gearing up for Karan Malhotra’s Shamshera aims to become a director of a self-written story and wish wife Alia Bhatt to produce it. Ranbir after making a successful career as an actor produced a film once and now desires to get into a director’s shoes too. 

During a recent interview, the Sanju actor opened up about producing his first film. He said: “When I produced Jagga Jasoos with Anurag Basu, I didn’t have that experience. I was only producing that film as an actor. So till now, I have not worked as a producer.”

He further mentioned his desire to become a director, “But yes, I have always wanted to direct a film. In this lockdown, I have also written a story, which I have liked very much. But I don’t have that skill to write.. so that I can go and share that story with people and make a film with them. But yes, direction is more on my wish list than production. Well, my wife is a producer.. and is a very good producer, so maybe she can produce my film.”

Shamshera is helmed by Karan Malhotra and bankrolled by Yash Raj Films. Ranbir Kapoor will act in a double role for the very first time in the period drama that also stars Sanjay Dutt as the villain and Vaani Kapoor as the female lead. The movie is slated to release on 22nd July 2022.
