Ranbir-Alia Unique Wedding Rituals- Everything Mr And Mrs Kapoor Did Differently

Alia and Ranbir did the unexcepted and tied the nuptial knot yesterday, with full of unconventional rituals. Here's what made their wedding so unique.

India witnessed the most anticipated wedding of the year yesterday, with lovebirds Ranbir and Alia finally becoming a man and wife, as they tied the knot in a very intimate wedding affair. With so many people wanting to see this couple tie the nuptial knot with bated breath, kudos to the couple’s families and friends for keeping the affair so intimate and simple.

When Alia and Ranbir’s magical wedding pics made a debut on the internet, it sure did let everyone’s hearts, also generating a sense of curiosity among fans, who expected the couple to go for a big fat Indian wedding. Instead, Ranlia decided to ditch the obvious and go for a rather simple Hindu ritual wedding. The couple has even decided to skip a wedding reception and sadly won’t be hosting a starry reception for their close friends and well-wishers from the industry. The close-knit affair that the couple chose instead, has definitely raised the bar high for other couples.

Apart from not following the regular wedding rituals, the couple decided to take another step forward and made their wedding unconventional for yet another reason. Since everyone knows how Alia and Ranbir performed a Hindu wedding ritual, the iconic couple instead of taking 7 pheras (rounds around the sacred fire) chose to take only 4 pheras despite the pandit Ji telling them the significance of all the pheras.

Alia’s brother Rahul Bhatt shared, “Interestingly, there were not seven but four pheras at the wedding. They had a special pandit. I was instrumental in a ceremony where brothers were needed. The pandit has been with the Kapoors for many years now. So he explained the significance of each phera. Ek hota hain dharm ke liye, ek hota hain santaan ke liye, so it was really fascinating. We have not been exposed to this. I come from a household of multiple ethnicities. So, that was fascinating. There were not 7 pheras but 4 pheras for the record. And I was during all the 4 pheras.”

Alia was the first to share the pics of the adorable wedding, as the two posed as man and wife for the first time. “Today, surrounded by our family and friends, at home in our favourite spot – the balcony we’ve spent the last 5 years of our relationship – we got married. With so much already behind us, we can’t wait to build more memories together memories that are full of love, laughter, comfortable silences, movie nights, silly fights, wine delights and Chinese bites. Thank you for all the love and light during this very momentous time in our lives. It has made this moment all the more special. Love, Ranbir and Alia (sic).” she captioned.
