Ramdas Athawale met Kangana Ranaut at her Mumbai residence on Thursday. His visit came a day after BMC demolished a portion of the actor’s office amid her controversy with Shiv Sena.

After his meeting, Ramdas addressed a press conference in which he said, “Kangana Ranaut said she is not interested in politics but is interested in ensuring unity in society. She said that in her upcoming film she is playing the role of a Dalit and that caste system should be abolished.”

He further added that though she currently has no interest in politics, but if she ever wishes to join BJP or RPI, she will be most welcomed.

Kangana Ranaut made the headlines when she made a remark on Mumbai Police and stated that she has lost faith in them. She further compared Mumbai to Pakistan occupied Kashmir. Her comments provoked Maharashtra’s ruling party Shiv Sena. Members of the party threatened her and even raised slogans against her when she arrived at Mumbai airport a few days ago.
