Ram Gopal Varma nowadays has become a synonym to the controversy. Earlier this month he pulled a prank on his followers by saying that he has been tested positive for COVID-19. Later he confirmed that his doctor played an April Fool’s Day prank on him but the Twitterati didn’t take his prank well and bashed the director for spreading panic during the time of crisis.
Meanwhile, Ram Gopal Varma has again invited some controversy. While participating in PM Narendra Modi’s initiative to light diyas or candles on Sunday at 9 PM for 9 minutes, RGV lit up a cigarette. He shared the picture with a caption, “9 PM Disclaimer: Not following Corona warnings is far more dangerous than not following government warnings on cigarette smoking.”
The netizens again called out Ram Gopal Varma for his insensitive post and slammed him left, right and center. And we hope that RGV takes some lesson from his mistake and doesn’t stir up yet another controversy.
Talking about the 9 PM for 9 minutes initiative, many biggies from the cine industry showed their support for the same. Several celebs like Rajinikanth, Chiranjeevi, Ram Charan, Mohanlal have shared photos and videos of themselves lighting up candles.
Bollywood actors and actresses also joined the initiative and shared pictures of them holding diyas or candles on their social media to show their support towards the health workers who are on the frontline fighting a war with the virus.
