Rakul Preet Singh Says This About Boycott Trend And Movies Failure

Rakul Preet Singh has come forward to speak on the films not working at the box office

Rakul Preet Singh is bagging plenty of projects this year. Now she is gearing up for her upcoming release ‘Doctor G’ after appearing in Akshay Kumar starrer Cuttputlli. In 2022 a handful of movies enjoyed success while many big-ticket outings featuring A-lister actors failed miserably. Rakul Preet who awaits her next release Doctor G on 14th October is anxious to see the present scenario of Bollywood.

These days Bollywood is in a poor stage with netizens boycotting every other film. Bollywood movies are facing major backlash from people through the boycott trend. The Hindi film industry is under unanticipated blow with consecutive films getting flop at the box office. Netizens are targeting every film calling for a boycott and this cancel culture trend has been impacting films badly. Now Rakul Preet Singh has come forward to speak on the films not working at the box office.

Talking about the boycott trend the Runway 34 actress told Indian Express, “You should boycott something that affects a certain section of society, but don’t pre-empt and start that conversation because it affects the entire chain of filmmaking, not just the actors. The industry suffers, the number of films being made suffers. So it’s a chain that is followed. Employment goes down. At a time when the government is doing its best to better the economy, we should not advocate these things.”

She further spoke on the failure of movies, “We have been going through really difficult times. People are still trying to figure out their life. We were the blessed ones to have homes and didn’t have to think about food in the past two years, but a large section of the population was not having an easy time. So possibly cinema is not their first source of entertainment right now. They need to secure their future. Ab har hafte film aa rahi hai toh har hafte toh nahi dekh payenge na. (Now if a film is releasing every week, people cannot come to the theaters every week).”

Rakul Preet Singh’s Doctor G also starring Ayushmann Khurrana will release in theaters on 14th October. Her next release Thank God featuring Ajay Devgn and Sidharth Malhotra will hit big screens this Diwali on 25th October. She also has Kamal Haasan’s Indian 2 with other projects in the pipeline.
