R Madhavan Opens Up On Returning In Tanu Weds Manu Franchise

Rocketry actor R Madhavan opens up on returning to the Tanu Weds Manu franchise, says “There is no point in beating a dead horse"

Bollywood actor R Madhavan is currently gearing up for his new release Rocketry: The Nambi Effect. The actor has been busy promoting his films and now recently in an interview the actor opened up about returning to his film Tanu Weds Manu franchise. Read what the actor has to say-

Bollywood actor R Madhavan was asked about the possibility of a sequel to another film of his – Tanu Weds Manu Returns since the audience loved his acting and performance in the film. To this, the 3idiots actor said if another movie was made from the Tanu Weds Manu franchise, he would probably not go for it. He said there was ‘no point in beating a dead horse’.

Talking about his appearance in the much-loved film’s sequel the actor said, “I think that’s water under the bridge. There is no point in beating a dead horse… You know, it’s so difficult to come up with original stuff, and then there are expectations of a film. See, if it’s a sequel to Avengers or a superhero series, it’s easier because you have a template. But with Tanu Weds Manu, it’s impossible. And I think I am done with it. I don’t want to go back to being Manu now,”.

While this is not the only film that the actor was asked for, recently during yet another interview the actor asked remake of his 2001 film Rehna Hai Terre Dil Mein, which also starred Dia Mirza and Saif Ali Khan. Responding to this he said, “I wish them all the very best. I think it’s foolishness, and that’s my opinion. I wouldn’t want to touch that. I wouldn’t do it as a producer. I wish them all the very best from the bottom of my heart, I do. And I hope they surprise, because nothing in the industry can actually be predicted but it has a lot of memories attached to it for a lot of people,”.

For the unversed, Tanu Weds Manu featured Bollywood actress Kangana Ranaut with R Madhavan. Meanwhile, both the actors were appraised and liked by the viewers in both the parts of the film, while many fans have been seeing forth for the sequel while now it seems that the fans might see a change in the cast. Apart from Kangana and R Madhavan actors like Swara Bhasker, Jimmy Shergill, and the much-loved character pappi played by Deepak Dobriyal were also seen in the film.

On the work front, R Madhavan’s film Rocketry: The Nambi Effect has been released in the theatres. The biographical drama film is based on the life of ISRO scientist Nambi Narayanan. Actor Madhavan has donned a director’s hat for the first time, interestingly he has also written the story, produced, and acted in the film. R Madhavan will portray the role of aerospace engineer Nambi Narayanan. The film also stars Shah Rukh Khan and Suriya in a cameo.
