R Balki is planning to make a biopic of Amitabh Bachchan. The filmmaker is a blatant fan of the Bollywood megastar. After receiving praise for Chup: Revenge of the Artist Balki is willing to make Big B’s biopic.
Balki and Bachchan have collaborated for numerous movies. The filmmaker directed Amitabh Bachchan first time in his first film Cheeni Kum (2007). Later the two reunited again for the second film Paa (2009). He again featured the veteran in Shamitabh in 2015.
The filmmaker is keen to make a Bachchan biopic but is unsure of whom he will cast in the lead role. According to Bollywood Hungama, Balki said, “But who will play the role of Bachchan? There is not a single actor in this country who would dare to step into those shoes. I would love to make the biopic. But there is no one I can get to play Amitabh Bachchan.”
Asked if Abhishek Bachchan would play Amitabh Bachchan. To this, he replied, “Of course, Abhishek would never play his father on screen. He knows it’s impossible for anyone to play the Mega Bachchan, not even his own son. Just like Tiger Shroff would never play his dad Jackie. Or Raima Sen playing Suchitra Sen…won’t work!”
Balki, who cast Bachchan in a cameo in his latest film Chup, was questioned if the megastar is his lucky mascot. He responded, “Calling him my lucky mascot would be very pedestrian. Mr. Bachchan is much more than that. I don’t have the words to describe his place in the history of Indian cinema.”
Lately, Balki and Bachchan collaborated for Chup: Revenge of the Artist. Amitabh Bachchan debuted as a music composer for the psychological thriller starring Sunny Deol, Dulquer Salmaan, and Pooja Bhatt. The end credit title of the movie is composed by Amitabh Bachchan.
R Balki is currently working with Junior Bachchan – Abhishek Bachchan for Ghoomer. The movie will also see Amitabh Bachchan in a role. Big B is currently hosting the 14th season of Kaun Banega Crorepati. He is also gearing up for Uunchai set to release on 11th November 2022.
