Priyanka Chopra is back in Mumbai to complete some brand commitments. With her return, there have been many speculations regarding her collaboration with Sanjay Leela Bhansali and Vishal Bhardwaj. Adding to this there are also rumors that Mrs. Jonas will kickstart the shoot of Farhan Akhtar’s late long-announced project Jee Le Zaraa.
However, in a recent interaction with the news agency Press Trust of India – PTI, PC discussed the upcoming project. PC revealed how she bagged the project and when it is expected to go on floors. The actress spilled major details about the female-centric road trip drama also starring Katrina Kaif and Alia Bhatt.
Well, this is not the first PC would do a female-centric female. She has well carried many films on her shoulders, namely 7 Khoon Maaf, Mary Kom, and fashion among others. Even before she has done female-led films in her career.
Priyanka Chopra said, “I called up Alia and Katrina, this is before Farhan or anybody came (on board). I called the girls first. I was sitting at home and I wanted to do a Hindi movie. But I wanted it to be on the terms of women.”
The 40-year-old actor added, “My generation of actresses really opened the door for the next generation of actresses to be the faces on the posters, to be able to sell movies. So, I really wanted to bring together my friends and say ‘let’s create a movie that will do well at the box office and it will be ours’. So, the stars aligned and we decided to do it. Hopefully, we will start shoot it next year.”
Jee Le Zara is the third road trip directorial by Farhan Akhtar after Dil Chahta Hai and Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara. In both the previous films it’s boys who go on the road trip but this time three girls will take the car out. The Internet went gaga after knowing the A-lister actresses will go on the road trip.
The travel drama is expected to be the biggest promising film featuring the topmost actresses of Bollywood. The movie is helmed by Bollywood’s ace filmmaker Farhan Akhtar. Written by Zoya Akhtar and Reema Kagti the film is produced under the banners of Excel Entertainment.
