Recently Priyanka shared a screenshot on her Instagram story of a publication that mentioned her as ‘wife of Nick Jonas’ as against her own name Priyanka Chopra. The actress was flabbergasted with the move and took to her Instagram to question whether her own identity wasn’t enough to represent her.

“Should I share my IMDB link?” wrote the actress who was slightly offended by the way she was mentioned in the article. Priyanka’s career spans 50 plus Bollywood films where the actress charmed the audiences on the basis of her acting skills and strong screen presence. The success of her career is not just limited to Indian audiences but the actress went ahead and proved her versatility when she started to work on Hollywood projects, representing India on a global forum that made Priyanka Chopra a household name, not just in India but in many other parts of the world too. That being said, achieving this height of success is not a cakewalk for anyone. It’s the sheer amount of hard work, patience, and sacrifices that makes one worthy of such praise and it’s only understandable why Priyanka was offended by such a remark.

“Very interesting that I am promoting one of the most iconic film franchises of all time and I am still referenced as ‘the wife of…’,” wrote the 39-year-old actress in a strongly-worded note and added: “Please explain how this still happens to women? Should I add my IMDb link to my bio?”

The actress has always been seen taking a hard stand on remarks that are not only demeaning to her but the entire gender as a whole. Sharing her thoughts about feminism, she says,

“Feminism is not about berating or hating men or disliking or trying to make sure we’re better than men,” she says. “Feminism is just saying give me opportunities without judging me for the decisions that I make, the same freedom that men have enjoyed for so many centuries.”

PeeCee, who was also previously featured in the list of 10th annual women in the world summit 2019, had been subject to such bias by international media in the past too, back in 2018 when she tied the knot with Nick Jonas.

“All Nick wanted was a possible fling with Hollywood’s latest It Woman, but instead he wound up staring straight at a life sentence with a global scam artist” mentioned the article. However, the article was later removed followed by great criticism on the internet.

“I want to sincerely apologize to Priyanka Chopra, Nick Jonas, and to the readers, I offended and hurt with my words. I do not condone racism, xenophobia, or sexism. I take full responsibility for what I wrote, and I was wrong. I am truly sorry” the writer clarified.

Her recent appearance is in the “Matrix: Resurrections” where she portrays the character of adult ‘Sati’.
