EXCLUSIVE: Pratik Gandhi Calls Vidya Balan A “Senior Actor” & Opens Up About His First Kissing Scene With Her

Pratik Gandhi, who became a household name with his powerful performance in Scam 1992 has continued to break stereotypes with his diverse roles. From portraying a serious stockbroker to embracing comedy in Madgaon Express, who also stepped into romantic drama with Do Aur Do Pyaar, starring alongside Vidya Balan. The film which explores a modern love story with complex relationships, required some intense scenes including a pivotal kissing scene between the lead characters.

Directed by Shirsha Guha, Do Aur Do Pyaar hit theaters on April 19, 2024. The story revolves around a couple on the brink of divorce who are involved in extramarital affairs. Given the nature of the plot, the film includes intense scenes between Vidya Balan (Kavya) and Pratik Gandhi (Anirudh). While such scenes can be challenging for many actors, experience and professionalism make all the difference.

Pratik Gandhi on First On-screen Kiss With Vidya Balan

In an exclusive interview with Lehren Retro, Pratik Gandhi admitted that he was initially hesitant about performing the scene, as it was his first time doing a kissing scene on screen. However, he praised Vidya Balan for her approach, calling her a “senior actor” who made the moment easy for him. “The way Vidya maneuvered the whole thing, the way she performed, the way she made it so clear. Because as a senior actor, for me, it was her who could make it or break it,” he shared.

Vidya’s ability to create a comfortable atmosphere helped Pratik ease into the scene. He further added, “She’s so jovial, she made things absolutely light. Humne haste-haste vo scene kar diya.”

Pratik Gandhi, on the other hand, gained fame with Scam 1992 and has since starred in Agni, Madgaon Expres, Do Aur Do Pyaar and before entering Bollywood, he balanced a career in engineering while acting in Gujarati films and theatre. And Pratik Gandhi’s transition into romantic roles is proof of his versatility and no doubt, his chemistry with Vidya Balan in Do Aur Do Pyaar stood out. The film beautifully explores modern relationships and their performances add depth to the story.

Do Aur Do Pyaar also features Ileana D’Cruz and Sendhil Ramamurthy in key roles. The film was produced by Sameer Nair, Deepak Segal, Tanuj Garg, Atul Kasbekar, and Swati Iyer Chawla under the banners of Applause Entertainment and Ellipsis Entertainment Production.
