Prateik Babbar Was In Tears After Reading Script Of India Lockdown

Prateik Babbar opens up about his character as a migrant worker in Madhur Bhandarkar’s upcoming movie India Lockdown

Prateik Babbar is awaiting the release of his upcoming movie India Lockdown. Dates before the release the actor revealed that he was overwhelmed when he read the script. He was so touched by his character as migrant labour that he cried. India Lockdown explores the other side of common Indians that were affected due to the global pandemic during the lockdown. 

After the trailer of the movie was released, Babbar was appreciated who his role as a daily wager. He is paired opposite Sai Tamhankar in Madhur Bhandarkar’s directorial. The movie highlights different stories that most Indians went through during lockdown. One of the stories is of a migrant worker and his struggles starring Prateik Babbar and Sai Tamhankar as his wife. 

According to IANS, the actor said,  “I was in tears when I first read the script. My character, a migrant worker, has his life suddenly come to a standstill and must decide whether to try to exist in a city far from home or return home and live within his means.”

Madhur Bhandar’s India Lockdown throws light on all the people whose lives were affected during the initial phase of the Covid-19 pandemic in India. This is the filmmaker’s second movie this year first was Babili Bouncer. In addition, the film was shot during the second phase of the lockdown. 

Sharing details about his preparations for the part, the actor said: “We had a lot of prep going for this character. I met a few migrant workers and had a heart to heart with them to understand their life in order to play Madhav.”

Apart from Pratiek and Sai the film also features, Shweta Basu Prasad, Aahana Kumra, and Prakash Belawadi in leading roles. India Lockdown will depict the story of the lockdown that took place in India in 2020 due to the global pandemic Covid 19. The film will stream on Zee5 from 2nd December.
