Salman’s Radhe will be the actor’s darkest cop role till date since he will be seen in a no non sense avatar of a police officer and his role is an indirect tribute to legendary versatile superstar Amitabh Bachchan’s cop avatar in Zanjeer.

Explaining the main reason of why the role had to be different then the Dabanng franchise, Prabhu Deva during his recent interview with a leading digital Indian entertainment portal said, “It had to be a different cop from the one that Salman Sir plays in Dabangg. Otherwise, Radhe would look like just an extension of Dabangg. We’ve made sure this cop is different, more serious”.

He also spilled the beans about it being an indirect tribute and said, “Not in any direct way. But yes both Inspector Vijay and Inspector Radhe are no-nonsense. They take their duty very seriously and they don’t spare criminals”.

Furthermore, he also added, “Like Amitabh Bachchan’s grim joyless serious cop Vijay in Zanjeer, Salman’s khaki dressed Radhe in Radhe: India’s Most Wanted won’t sing songs on screen. At least that’s the plan for now. A source very close to the film reasoned with me. You tell me, does it make any sense for a no-nonsense cop to burst into a song for no rhyme or reason? It’s okay for  Salman’s  Chulbul Pandey (the cop character from Dabangg) to sing and dance, as he’s a full-on masti-khor. But Radhe is different”.

It seems that the idea of doing two cop movies franchise with Salman is to keep them totally separate and different from each other as much as possible which is why Chulbul Pandey from Dabanng is in a naughty space but Radhe is in the serious and darkly intense space.

Radhe also stars the Bharat (2019) fame stunning actress Disha Patani as a female lead and would be hitting the screens in December 2020.
