Pathaan: Prakash Raj Defends Deepika Padukone Over Saffron Bikini Trolls

Actor Prakash Raj recently came out in support of actors Shah Rukh Khan and Deepika Padukone over Pathaan's controversy.

Boycott Pathaan: Siddharth Anand’s film Pathaan has sparked extreme outrage on the internet. Apparently, the film’s recently released song “Besharam Rang” has garnered a lot of attention after netizens claimed that the song featured “vulgar visuals”. On the other hand, many others shared their objection to the use of the color ‘saffron’ in the last portion of the song.

Reacting to the ongoing controversy against the song “Besharam Rang” actor Prakash Raj has now also shared his reaction as he came out to support Shah Rukh and Deepika. Mocking the #AndhBhakts Prakash Raj tweeted, “Disgusting … How long should we tolerate these ..Colour Blind #AndhBhakts .. #justasking.”

In yet another tweet Prakash Raj tweeted, “#Besharam BIGOTS.. So it’s okay when Saffron clad men garland rapists..give hate speech, broker MLAs, a Saffron clad swamiji rapes Minors, But not a DRESS in a film ?? #justasking ….Protesters Burn Effigies Of SRK In Indore. Their Demand: Ban ‘Pathaan'”.

However, Prakash Raj’s tweet didn’t go down well with the netizens as a segment of social media users has now criticized the actor for his statement. A user tweeted, “Converted People who cant even use their original name calls other bhakt.”

Another user tweeted, “We respect woman, we see goddess in her, unlike you we Dont even tolerate second marriage converted man. For money you may sell dignity, self- respect everything. For us that more important.”

For the unversed, recently state home minister Narottam Mishra expressed his discontent over Deepika Padukone’s “Saffron” colored outfits in Pathaan song “Besharam Rang”. He said, “Actress Deepika Padukone’s costume is highly objectionable and the song has been shot with a dirty mindset. The scenes and costumes of the songs should be changed, or we will have to take a decision on ist screening in Madhya Pradesh,”
