Pathaan teaser put the internet on fire after its release on 2nd November. Shah Rukh Khan fans were going crazy with the glimpse of the superstar’s much-awaited film. Some also praised the SRK’s look and the action, while some trolled the teaser for VFX and copied content. In the short video of the Pathaan teaser, we also see John Abraham performing some high-octane stunts. Director Siddharth Anand spoke on his choice of bringing John Abraham on board for the movie.
In the action thriller, we have Shah Rukh Khan headlining the film, Deepika Padukone playing the female lead and John Abraham will play the antagonist. Siddharth Anand who is directing the flick said that the Force actor was his first and only choice to play the villain in SRK’s comeback movie. The filmmaker wanted someone who is ruthless and the “perfect opposite of Pathaan”.
In an interview with a media portal, Siddharth said, “For Pathaan to be larger than life, we needed to have a towering villain who is equally larger than life. We wanted someone who is ruthless and suave, and commands an electric presence on screen. So, the villain in Pathaan was written keeping John Abraham in mind.”
He went on to say, “He (John) was our first and only choice, and we were certain that we wanted a villain that the audience would cherish forever. I am delighted to see the response that people have showered on John as he takes on Shah Rukh Khan in a blood-soaked, adrenaline-pumping rivalry that will be epic in every sense possible. John is the perfect opposite of Pathaan on screen and we have made their rivalry look deliciously edge of the seat. It will be one hell of a thrilling showdown.”
Pathaan is Aditya Chopra’s spy universe movie slated to release on 25th January 2023. The movie also stars Deepika Padukone and John Abraham along with Shah Rukh Khan. Salman Khan is said to play a cameo in the movie. Directed by Siddharth Anand the action drama is produced under the banners of Yash Raj Films.
