It seems Shah Rukh Khan’s Pathaan is on a spree of breaking and setting up new records at the box office. The spy thriller which also stars Deepika Padukone, John Abraham has now officially sold over 2 million tickets in advance. This in itself is a huge record.

Siddharth Anand directorial has now grossed over Rs. 58 crores in advance sales. This is an all-time highest for Bollywood. The advanced bookings for the action-thriller began on January 20, five days before the film’s release, and it has sold more than 4,30,000 tickets for day one alone. Pathaan’s advance bookings have already broken the record of Hrithik Roshan and Tiger Shroff’s 2019 film War and is set to take over KGF-2 (2022), which has sold over 5.15 lakh tickets on first day.

Pathaan will also be releasing in Telugu and Tamil and according to Bookmyshow, 30 per cent of the advance ticket sales have come from South India and Telugu version of Pathaan has the highest advance ticket sales next to Hindi and this is only increasing each day.

With less than 12 hours for it’s release, it will be interesting to see if it can take the second spot. The top spot is still occupied by Prabhas’ Baahubali 2 with 6.50 lakh ticket sales.

Pathaan is part of Yash Raj Films ambitious spy universe, which included films like Ek Tha Tiger (2012), Tiger Zinda Hai (2017) and War (2019).
