Padma Shri Flak: Adnan Sami Gives A Befitting Reply To The Trolls

Singer-composer Adnan Sami slams the trolls who are criticizing him on being honored with Padma Shri. Read below.

Adan Sami was honored with the prestigious Padma Shri on India’s 71st Republic Day for his contribution to the Indian music industry. This gesture of the Government raised many eyebrows as Adnan has ties with our neighboring country Pakistan.

Many netizens and opposition politicians criticized the Government for honoring Adnan Sami with Padma Shri at the time when the nation’s ties with Pakistan have been hostile. Many expressed their views by saying that several other more deserving musicians in India are being overlooked.

But Adnan Sami is rarely bothered by such negative remarks. He said that he feels even more responsible for his craft after receiving the Padma Shri. “It is really precious. I feel when you are honored with a prestigious award like Padma Shri, it increases responsibility. Now I feel a tremendous sense of responsibility to try and do even better,” the singer added.

Shutting down the trolls Adnan said, “It is okay if they didn’t like it. I have forgiven them. They are bechare (poor people) and I hope they will learn from it. If a handful of people doesn’t like it then it doesn’t matter because 1.3 billion people liked the decision, so who are they? They should be kept aside.”

During the launch of his new song “Tu Yaad Aaya” in Mumbai, the singer expressed his love for music by saying, “The most important thing is that the field in which I have been given this blessing of an award is art and music. I feel my responsibility towards my fans and my country.”
