On 34th Death Anniversary Of Smita Patil, Her Son Writes An Emotional Note

Actor Prateik Babbar remembers her mother Smita Patil on her 34th death anniversary.

Actor Prateik Babbar, son of the legendary actor Smita Patil is having an emotional moment as he pays her a tribute on her 34th death anniversary. In 12 years of her acting career, Smita Patil worked in numerous Hindi, Marathi, Gujarati, Malayalam and Kannada films. She even won two National Awards, a Filmfare award and was also the recipient of Padma Shri award. She was married to actor and politician Raj Babbar.

In 1986, she passed away due to childbirth complications. She was just 31 years old. Over ten of her films were released after her death. Smita’s son, Prateik Babbar, who never got a chance to feel what mother’s love is like, has penned an emotional note for her.

He wrote, “34 years ago today my mother left us.. over the years.. iv tried to imagine & create the perfect image of her.. in my mind & heart.. we’ve arrived at a very special place.. a very precious place.. now.. she’s the perfect mother.. the perfect woman.. the perfect role model.. the apple of every little boys eye.. that perfect mother every little boy idolises.. & wants to grow up to be like.. the one that will never leave your side.. & stay with you.. #4ever.. till the end of time.. & every year.. she grows younger.. with me.. she’s 65 years young now.. she will continue to live with me.. within me.. to infinity.. & beyond.. my beautiful.. mama queen.. my reason.. numero uno.. my #superstar #legend  rest in #love.. in #power.. in #paradise”

Smita died just two weeks after giving birth to her son Prateik. 20 years later, one of India’s greatest film directors, Mrinal Sen alleged that Smita Patil had died due to gross medical negligence. Smita’s son Prateik made his acting debut in 2008 with film Jaane Tu Ya Jaane Na. He was then also seen in Aarakshan, Chhichhore, Baaghi 2 and Darbar.
