In today’s time, Karan Johar is one of those names in the entertainment industry known for giving many hit films. Very few know that the successful filmmaker started his career as an actor. Karan Johar who is one of the renowned filmmakers in the country once worked in front of the camera as an actor. In the entertainment world, he began his journey as a lead character in a teenager sci-fi tv series. The name of the tv series was Indradhanush, in which he played a lead role.
Indradhanush was created by Aanand Mahendroo in the year 1989 with just 13 episodes. The sci-fi fantasy was aired on Doordarshan. It was a series popular among kids which featured a storyline of an alien prince from Andromeda Galaxy. The story showed that one of the kids gets kidnapped and as a helping hand the Prince gives the kids a time machine. This gets the kids into different kinds of worldly adventures. Karan Johar was one of the kids in the show who experiences the adventurous journey along with Jitendra Rajpal, Ameesha Jhaveri, and Sagar Arya. Actors Vishal Singh and Akshay Anand. The show was also graced by veteran actors like Girish Karnad, Vikram Gokhale, Urmila Matondkar, and filmmaker Ashutosh Gowariker.
Back in 2020, Karan Johar shared his shooting experience on the show and tweeted,
“RK studios is more than a mega institution of Indian cinema, it has also shaped many personal memories for me. My fondest memory wasn’t as a director but as an actor! I was 15 & shooting for a TV serial called Indradhanush which was being filmed there & one of my first times on”
