Not Acting But Sunny Kaushal Had Planned This Amusing Career

Actor Sunny Kaushal reveals that he didn't want to be an actor but had other career choices in mind. Watch his interview!

Sunny Kaushal is the rising star of Bollywood. He made his acting debut in 2016 and has been part of several critically acclaimed projects since then. He is best known for headlining the Amazon Prime series ‘The Forgotten Army’ and the romantic drama film ‘Shiddat’.

There’s no denying fact that Sunny Kaushal is a phenomenal actor but did you know that he didn’t want to be an actor in the first place? During a recent interview, Sunny revealed that he had a different career choice in mind when he was in school and college.

Sunny said, “I loved history and for the longest time, I wanted to be an archaeologist. Till date, I am very interested in geography and history and I still follow these subjects whenever I get time. I consciously remember that I always wanted to be an archaeologist but then the winds changed their course and I became an actor.”

He further added, “The transition happened subconsciously because I chose commerce during college and then I was studying for CA. Yes, I wanted to be an archaeologist but there wasn’t any set goal in my life. I could never take the decision to study further in history. I picked what I got. When I completed my graduation at 21, I realised that I don’t see myself as a CA. And I was always in performing arts since childhood. So, I gave myself a chance in this and that’s how I have reached here.”

When asked about his favourite artist and desire to be like them, Sunny replied, “I don’t want to be like anyone else because the whole point of being an artist is that it is an individualistic expression. It would be very stupid of me to want to be like someone else. No matter how much I admire a certain person, I can’t be like them. And, favourite artists keep changing. But if I have to talk about my all-time favourite artist, I think it would be Guru Dutt Sahab. I recently watched Pyasa at the MAMI festival and I was blown. I was really moved by his performance.”

Sunny Kaushal will be next seen in ‘Hurdang’ alongside Nushrratt Bharuccha and Vijay Varma. It is scheduled to release theatrically on 8 April 2022.
