Not Acting, But Mrunal Thakur Wanted To Be In This Profession

During the trailer launch of Dhamaka, actor Mrunal Thakur revealed that she wanted to pursue a different profession.

Actor Mrunal Thakur, who made her Bollywood debut in 2019 alonside Hrithik Roshan in the film ‘Super 30’, is the emerging star of Bollywood. She has been a part of three mega films this year. Starting with Farhan Akhtar’s ‘Toofaan’, the actress will be now seen in ‘Dhamaka’ starring Kartik Aaryan in lead. And towards the end of the year, Mrunal will be seen sharing screen space with Shahid Kapoor in ‘Jersey’.

However, being an actor was not Mrunal’s first dream. During the trailer launch of ‘Dhamaka’, Mrunal revealed that she had different professional dreams when she was in college. Mrunal said, “Most people are not aware that I was pursuing journalism in college and I always wanted to be a crime journalist.”

Mrunal will be making a special apprearance in ‘Dhamaka’ portraying the role of a field reporter. The actress said, “When I was offered this role, I immediately said yes! I knew that I had to make it work because this role was very important to me. My dream of becoming a crime reporter that remained unfullfiled, happened through our film Dhamaka.”

She further said that after playing this role she realised that a journalist’s job comes with heavy responsibilties.

“It is a very tough job. You have to be on your toes all the time,” she said. She further told that she had to watch a lot of videos and participated in workshops before playing her role in Dhamaka.

Dhamaka will release on Netflix on November 19, 2021.
