Recently popular Bollywood actress and dancer Nora Fatehi filed a defamation case against Jacqueline Fernandez for dragging her name into the Rs 200 crore money laundering case. Nora further claimed that Jacqueline tried to tarnish her public image by linking her name with conman Sukesh Chandrashekhar. Reacting to the charges Jaqueline’s lawyer has now finally broken his silence and has denied all the allegations made.
During a conversation with E times, Jacqueline’s lawyer Prashant Patil said, “She has consciously avoided talking about the Enforcement Directorate proceedings. Till date she has maintained the sanctity of law and because the matter is subjudice she has always avoided to speak in front of the print and social media. Having said that, we have not received any official copy of the suit filed by Nora. Once we receive an official confirmation or an order of the Honourable Court, we will respond to it legally,”
Jacqueline’s lawyer further stated that the actress never had any intentions of defaming Nora and that she has the utmost respect for her, her lawyer stated that there must have been some sort of miscommunication. He said, “Quoting anybody’s reply, filed before an adjudicating authority, is a matter of pure judicial proceeding,”
He added, “My client has no intention to defame Nora or for that matter anybody else. If Jacqueline is dragged to any legal court, she will respond legally to protect her own dignity,”
For the unversed, Nora Fatehi recently filed a defamation case against actress Jacqueline Fernandez. In the lawsuit, Nora claimed that Jacqueline collaborated with several “media houses” to circulate news and statements made against her during the Sukesh Chandrasekhar trial.
Nora stated in her lawsuit, “It has started to become evident that the aforementioned rivals being unable to compete with the complainant fairly in the industry have started to try and tarnish her reputation which would cause her loss of work and hence would open up greener pastures for her rivals in the industry,”
