The 2019 movie Chhichhore featuring Sushant Singh Rajput and Shraddha Kapoor has become a cult-classic. The small-budget film helmed by Nitesh Tiwari struck a chord with the audience with its simple yet meaningful plotline. The film was hailed by the audience for the subtle message that it gave rather than the razzle-dazzle the big budgets movie showcase without any proper story to tell.
Speaking of Nitesh Tiwari, the ace director has delivered critically acclaimed movies like Chillar Party and Bhootnath Returns. Apart from that Tiwari has also done the 2016 highest-grossing film Dangal with Aamir Khan. Not only did Dangal do well at the Indian Box but it also minted a lot of money at the Chinese Box Office.
Nitesh Tiwari’s Chhichhore also crossed Rs. 150 crores plus collection in India and owing to its merit and success, everyone is expecting the film to even a bigger blast in the neighboring country. Meanwhile, there have also been speculations making rounds about Chhichhore’s China release.
Given the context, in a recent interaction, Nitesh Tiwari opened up about Chhichhore’s China release. Clearing the air he said that he isn’t aware of the film’s China release. He further said, “I hope the situation in China is conducive if and when Chhichhore releases and that the people are safe there and are in the correct mindset to go and enjoy the film in the theatres. They have also gone through a lot. I can just hope that it connects with them the way it connected with the audiences in our country.”
The director also admitted that he is making optimum use of the lockdown period by working on his highly anticipated Ramayan. He said that he realized that the lockdown will continue for a while, so he alongside Piyush Gupta, Shreyas Jain have started working of his wife Ashwiny Iyer Tiwari’s next venture. He also added that they have been working on the prep work for Ramayan in whichever way they can manage. He further mentioned that all of them are working from home 5 times a week and are continuing to give their best.
