Speaking with CNN-News18, Nadav has now said, “I didn’t want to insult anyone, and my aim was never to insult people or their relatives, who have suffered. I totally totally totally apologize if that’s the way they interpreted.”

Nadav Lapid also claimed that Vivek Agnihotri knew that his statement was not based on the “Kashmir Conflict” but was aimed at the manipulative nature of his film The Kashmir Files and said, “Listen, I’m sure that the film director is furious. I also would have been furious if someone would call my films in the same way… The filmmaker knows very well that the question is not what exactly were the facts… I never doubted the facts, I don’t have the capacity, the tools, to say what happened in Kashmir… I was talking about the movie, and such a serious topic, in my opinion, deserves a serious movie.”

Nadav Lapid Still Stands By His Remark

Meanwhile, earlier during an interview with the Israeli newspaper Ha’aretz, Nadav stated that he stands by his remarks, he said, “Making bad films is not a crime, but this is a very crude, manipulative, and violent propaganda film. The truth is that I also couldn’t help but imagine a similar situation that might happen one day soon in Israel, and I would be happy that in such a situation the head of a foreign jury would be willing to say things as he sees them.”
