The Oscars 2023 is about to begin and many Indian language movies have made it into the major categories of nominations. Naatu Naatu has registered its place already in the Oscars and the famous song from the movie is set to be performed at the Oscars.
The dazzling tune of Telugu action epic RRR, will be performed at this year’s Academy Awards, producers said on February 28. Singers Rahul Sipligunj and Kaala Bhairava will travel to the Dolby Theater in Los Angeles on March 12 for the 95th Annual Academy Awards to perform the iconic song.

The song is also up for the Best Original Song trophy, up against the likes of Lady Gaga (“Hold My Hand”), Rihanna (“Lift Me Up”), Mitski, and David Byrne (“This Is a Life”) . and Diane Warren (“Applause”). The song won Best Original Song at this year’s 80th Golden Globes, making history as the first Indian song in that category.

The song’s cultural appeal has spanned borders, languages , and media. It garnered 122 million views on YouTube and inspired enviable TikTok challenges that got people dancing. Composed by M.M. Keeravani, reels, radio, and television have collectively elevated the song to a veritable anthem.
On Sunday, South Korean Ambassador Chang Jae-bok posted a 53-second rendition of the song on Twitter, clocking over 4.8 million visits today.
