Salim tweeted, “Devastated with the news of the passing away of my brother Wajid of Sajid -Wajid fame. May Allah give strength to the family. Safe travels bro @wajidkhan7 you’ve gone too soon. It’s a huge loss to our fraternity. I’m shocked & broken. Inna Lillahi wa inna ilayhi raji’un.“
Salim told PTI, “He had multiple issues. He had a kidney issue and had a transplant a while ago. But recently he got to know about kidney infection… He was on the ventilator for the last four days, after his situation started getting worse. Kidney infection was the beginning and then he got critical.”
The musical duo of Sajid-Wajid is mainly known for composing songs of Salman Khan’s movies. In fact, the duo made their debut in Bollywood with Salman’s 1998 movie ‘Pyaar Kia Toh Darna Kya’ and then went on to become a pivotal part of the music album of the superstar’s upcoming movies like ‘Garv’, ‘Tere Naam’, ‘Partner’, and the beloved ‘Dabangg’ franchise.
Sajid-Wajid also composed the music of Salman Khan’s recently released song ‘Bhai Bhai’.
Soon as the news of Wajid’s demise broke out in the tinsel town, many of them mourned and paid tribute to him via Twitter.
Songs composed by Wajid Khan will forever be cherished by everyone but sadly Sajid Khan lost his music partner and Bollywood lost a talented singer and music composer.
May Wajid Khan’s soul rest in peace.
