“Mujhe Shahrukh Ke Saath Jabardasti Award De Diya”- Salman Khan

At the press conference of 68th Filmfare Awards, Salman Khan reveals his lack of interest in award functions.

Salman Khan will be hosting the 68th Filmfare Awards this year. At the special press conference held in Mumbai last night, Salman confessed that awards hold no importance in his life. Salman made daring statements at the Filmfare press meet as he said, “I was never interested in awards. Till today, I am not. I am interested in rewards and the reward is what I get from my fans and Hindi film audiences from the people of our country. The love and respect that I get, that is my reward.”

He narrated, “I was once given a Filmfare Award. I had to forcefully take it with Shahrukh because Lolo was sitting right beside me and Shahrukh was calling me. It was a pretty awkward situation. I think Helen aunty was getting something at that time and they called me on stage to get the award. I left it there only.”

Salman said, “I have never been interested in these awards because I have seen so many of them at home. When my dad had no work, we used to use these awards as door-stoppers. And when there was no more space in our house, dad used to give them away. So this is my life story.”

Salman then added that he just likes to perform and host at award functions.

“The main point is that I have been in the industry since so many years. I think the younger generations should get the awards, not me. Why should I get the awards. I know films like Dabangg, Bajrangi Bhaijaan, Tere Naam etc did well. I didn’t want anything. I was just happy that the films worked and did good business,” he concluded.

On the work front, Salman will be next seen in “Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan”.
