We all remember the famous slap scene in the 2019 film ‘Kabir Singh’. In the film, Shahid Kapoor hit Kiara Advani in one of the scenes and it initiated a debate in the country. But in 2021, the tables have turned as actress Mrunal Thakur has taken revenge on Kiara’s behalf.
Shahid Kapoor and Mrunal Thakur are sharing screen space in the upcoming sports drama film titled ‘Jersey’. In one of the intense scenes, Mrunal slaps Shahid after she catches him stealing her money. The actors who’ll appear on the sets of The Kapil Sharma Show this weekend to promote the film will reveal deets about the scene.
Shahid reveals that Mrunal was initially reluctant to hit him but a call with Kiara Advani helped her do the scene. Shahid told, “Before shooting for the scene Mrunal called up Kiara Advani and had a chat with her at length. She called her to motivate herself to slap me and asked her, “tell me what happened to you in ‘Kabir Singh’”. Shahid is standing here and in the scene, it’s written I have to slap him really hard! So, tell me so that I can build up the mood and the feel for it so that I can deliver on the slap. And after the slap, my ears actually felt a little numb.”
He then continued saying that she did not want to slap him at first and was making up excuses like “How can I hit Shahid” but in the fourth shot she was in beast mode.
He further added, “And it was in the winters, we were shooting in Chandigarh in 4- or 5-degree temperature and the slap remains with you for two, two and a half days!”
Mrunal Thakur and Shahid Kapoor starrer Jersey will hit the theatres on Dec 31.
