Meenakshi Seshadri, known for her remarkable career spanning just 16 years, is celebrated as an exceptional dancer and a heart-stealing actress with an outstanding screen presence. She starred alongside some of Bollywood’s legendary actors, making her one of the most iconic actresses of all time. One of her favorite co-stars was the late legendary actor Rishi Kapoor.
In an exclusive interview with Lehren Retro, Meenakshi Seshadri opened up about her admiration for Rishi Kapoor and his wife, Neetu Kapoor. When asked if she met Neetu after Rishi Ji’s demise, Meenakshi said, “No, I haven’t met her yet, but I’m very curious to meet her. I’m a big fan of hers and she is my most favorite co-star’s wife. I felt heartbroken and sad after Rishi Ji’s passing and learning about his health condition. Hopefully, I will meet Neetu Kapoor very soon.”
When asked if she met Rishi Kapoor during his treatment in New York, Meenakshi, who has settled in the USA after taking a hiatus from showbiz, replied, “No, I wasn’t able to meet him.” She then shared an interesting anecdote, revealing that Rishi Kapoor was the one person from whom she frequently taken advice.
Now that she is back in Bollywood and reviewing scripts after a 28-year break, Meenakshi Seshadri opened her thoughts of returning to the cinema industry. She mentioned, “I’ve been contemplating a comeback for the past 10-12 years. During this time, I would often connect with Rishi Ji.” She then shared a thought-provoking piece of advice given to her by Rishi Kapoor, which he had received from his uncle, the iconic actor Shammi Kapoor. Meenakshi stated, “Rishi Ji advised me, ‘The attraction of touch can be controlled, and don’t fall into the trap that you need a public face to have a successful life!’”
