Manoj Bajpayee is set to headline Zee Studios’ next project which is touted to be a courtroom drama. Three-time National Film Awardee has signed the dotted lines of the untitled project backed by Vinod Bhanushali’s Bhanushali Studios Limited and Suparn S Varma. The hard-hitting story will be directed by Apoorv Singh Karki.
This courtroom drama brings back together The Family Man actor Manoj Bajpyee and producer Suparn Varma. The shooting has been started in Jodhpur. Apart from Manoj, the film will also feature an ensemble cast, which remains unknown yet.
Talking about the film, Manoj Bajpayee said, “When Vinod Bhanushali & Suparn S Varma told me about the story, I was fascinated and immediately agreed to be a part of this beautiful script. The courtroom drama will enthrall and Apoorv Karki is going to create something that will intrigue the audience. We are excited as we start shoot today. I am sure this film is something people will remember for a really long time.”
Sharing the news on his Instagram account, Manoj reposted Taran Adarsh’s post. Later he again shared the same photos with caption, “Will truth prevail in this courtroom? Light. Camera. Action! ? Shoot begins!”
Apoorv Singh Karki is known for popular web shows namely, Saas Bahu Achaar Pvt. Ltd, and Flames, among others. This will mark the debut of the director in films. Speaking of his first directorial film, Apoorv said, “This film has everything on point that attracted me towards it – a good story, solid cast, strong producers backing it. The script demanded a calm and assertive actor like Manoj Sir to lead the film and we are glad to have him on board. This is definitely an unmissable opportunity for me.”
Headlined by Manoj Bajpayee and helmed by Apoorv Singh Karki the courtroom drama is produced by Vinod Bhanushali, Kamlesh Bhanushali, Asif Sheikh & Vishal Gurnani and co-produced by Juhi Parekh Mehta. The film will be presented by Zee Studios, Bhanushali Studios Limited, and Suparn S Varma. Makers are hoping to release the film in 2023.
