Manoj Bajpayee Claims “Sushant Singh Rajput Could Not Handle Industry Politics And Groupism”

Manoj Bajpayee talks about Sushant Singh Rajput's death: "He could not handle industry politics and groupism."

In a recent interview, versatile Bollywood actor Manoj Bajpayee opened up about nepotism and losing Sushant Singh Rajput. The actor is recently busy promoting his film Bandaa, in which he plays a lawyer fighting a rape case against Gadman. Nepotism has always existed in the film industry and elsewhere, according to Bajpayee. He also messaged outsiders to not take this at heart and rather focus their energy on polishing their craft. 

Speaking with Aaj Tak, the National Award-winning actor asked about the death of Sushant and the nepotism discussions that sparked after he died. SSR wanted to be a star, but that there is too much competition for it. However, he could not bear the pressure of all this. Talking about the time they spent together in the film Sonchiriya, Bajpayee was quoted as saying that they really became close and that Sushant had so much love for Manoj. He would often cook mutton on set, and he would always come to eat. We never knew he would take such a drastic step, but he talked about his challenge to him.

He continued by saying that Sushant had spoken to him about being worried about these issues because they affected him and that he could not handle the pressure. “Industry mein politics hamesha hota hai lekin, it gets dirtier as you climb the ladder of success. I’ve never had a problem because I’m thick-skinned and stubborn. Sushant wasn’t, and thus he was unable to handle the pressure. Manoj said, “He had told me that he was worried about these things since they upset him.

The 54-year-old actor further said that if anyone wants to be Manoj Bajpayee, there is no politics, but if one wants to be a star, there will be a lot of competition. Manoj said that he had realized that Sushant was a pure soul, and “andar se woh baccha tha. He could not understand the manipulation that was needed.
