Amid the coronavirus pandemic, many filmmakers have been forced to delay the release of their films. While many are taking the OTT route, others are waiting to release their project on the big screen. Meanwhile, as per the latest update, the makers of Akshay Kumar and Katrina Kaif starrer Sooryavanshi are aiming to release the film on Republic Day 2021.
Earlier there were speculations that the makers are planning to release Sooryavanshi on the occasion of Diwali this year. However, there seems to be a change of plan and they are heading to allegedly release Sooryavanshi on Republic Day 2021.
The hearsay suggests that the makers were aiming to release the movie at Christmas. But that slot is already booked for Ranveer Singh starrer ’83.
As per the latest reports by Bollywood Hungama, Rohit Shetty’s cop-universe movie will be releasing on the weekend of Republic Day 2021. The reason to push forward the release date is for the benefits of both the films.
Speaking of ’83 and Sooryavanshi, both films are much-awaited and have a big budget. If these two films clash at the Box Office, the stakeholders will suffer.
With cinema halls now re-opened the makers are now hurriedly locking the dates for the release of their ventures.
Laal Singh Chaddha, Radhe: Your Most Wanted Bhai, and a few more films are also in the line to hit the big screen.
For the unknown, Sooryavanshi was to release on March 24, 2020. However, the makers had to indefinitely postpone the release date due to the COVID-19 scare and lockdown.
On the work front, Akshay Kumar also has Bell Bottom and Laxmmi Bomb in his kitty. Laxmmi Bomb will release on November 9, 2020, on Disney+ Hotstar.
