The 2013 movie Fukrey might have not done a good business at the Box Office but it surely has become a cult-classic. Fukrey hit a different chord with the audience and everyone hailed the comedy-drama movie. However, in comparison to the first installment, the second part titled Fukrey Returns entered the 100 crore club. Since then, there have been speculations about the third part and its plotline.

Some reports were claiming that the next installment of the Fukrey franchise will incorporate plot points according to the on-going coronavirus pandemic. However, these rumors have been refuted by directed Mrighdeep Lamba, who denied having made such a statement.

The director said, “It is not true at all. This is hardly an issue that can be slipped into a plot as an afterthought. This is a misreport.”

Lamba who is currently writing Fukrey 3, says that the incorporation of the coronavirus in the film is out of the question. He said, “This story has nothing to do with COVID-19. Even I was surprised when I read that I was incorporating the virus in my film when in fact I said we won’t incorporate such a grim and sensitive issue forcibly into Fukrey 3.”

But Lamba did admit that he won’t mind making a fresh independent film based on the COVID-19 virus. Speaking of which he said, “If I get a good idea for a film on the coronavirus, I will do it. But, I repeat Fukrey 3 has nothing to do with the virus.”

Talking about the cast of the Fukrey franchise, it consists of Pulkit Samrat, Varun Sharma, Ali Fazal, Richa Chadha, and Manjot Singh. It will be interesting to see if there will be an addition to the existing star cast in the third installment of the movie.
