The netizens have bashed the song for having a racial undertone to it. Reportedly, the makers of Khaali Peeli will be reworking on the lyrics of Beyoncé Sharma Jayegi to avoid legal war.

    Speaking of the song, till now it has garnered 6.7 lakh dislikes on YouTube. For the unversed, singing sensation Beyoncé has trademarked her name.

    It bars everyone from using her name commercially. Hence, the reports state that the makers will rework on the lyrics of Beyoncé Sharma Jaeyi to avoid a legal threat.

    The final call on this decision will be taken this week, informed a source.

    An insider said, “In a pre-emptive move, the makers are now planning to rewrite the song to avoid legal repercussions. A final call will be taken this week. With the dance number being called out for racism, it will be an unwise move to take on an international star like Beyoncé, especially at a time when the Black Lives Matter movement has set the stage for equality.”

    Apart from the song, the trailer of Khaali Peeli has also received over 1.7 million downvotes on YouTube its release. With the sentiments of nepotism running high across the country, the film has been facing a lot of backlash from the general public.

    The Ali Abbas Zafar production film will be streaming on Zee Plex on October, 2.

    The makers of the film decided to take the OTT route pertaining to the coronavirus situation in the country. The cinema halls across the country remain shut since mid-March.
