Love & War OTT Rights Sold To THIS Platform
As per a Pinkvilla report, Sanjay Leela Bhansali is rumored to have secured a significant non-theatrical deal for his forthcoming film Love And War. Sources have informed Pinkvilla that Bhansali will be producing the film independently, without the backing of any studio partner.
Sources revealed to the portal that SLB has chosen to self-finance Love And War, similar to the approach taken by studios like YRF and Red Chillies. Before production starts, he has already secured a Rs 130 crore deal with Netflix which can potentially increase if the film performs well at the box office, and secured Rs 35 crore for music rights from Saregama. Talks for a satellite deal worth about Rs 50 crore are also underway.
Love And War is expected to make around Rs 215 crore from deals before it even hits theaters, with the possibility of earning more depending on how it performs. Netflix paid a high price for it, influenced by the success of SLB’s last film, Heera Mandi. Even though studios offered Rs 350 crore for the film, SLB decided to finance it himself.
Love & War Budget
The source added that the estimated production cost of Love And War is around Rs 200 crore, not including talent fees. SLB aims to present the film on a grand scale, true to his signature style, with unprecedented war sequences and elaborate visuals.
