The trailer of the much-awaited film Liger was released yesterday. Vijay Deverakonda along with his female lead in the film Ananya Panday launched the trailer of Liger in Hyderabad before visiting Mumbai for a mega event and press conference. The Liger team received much love and get showered with rose petals during the grand launch in Hyderabad.
Immediately the team flew to Mumbai for another mega launch in the city later in the day. During the press conference held in Mumbai, the Arjun Reddy actor commented if his upcoming movie is a boon for Bollywood or the South. Vijay Deverakonda is making his Bollywood debut with Liger after a successful career in South industry. He holds a prominent image down in Telugu cinema and the entire south industry.
Talking about his first Hindi film and how he previewed it. At the Mumbai trailer launch event, the south actor was asked if the film is a boon for Bollywood or South. To this, he gave a diplomatic reply: “I see it as me getting to live a dream. A personal dream of mine and I see it as I love telling stories, love telling them to a huge audience in huge auditoriums, and what bigger auditorium than India? I see it as a personal dream and ambition coming to life.”
Liger is the story of a Mumbai slumdog boy who aims to become a boxer. The Telugu star plays a titular role in the rags to riches story of the MMA champion. The movie marks the debut of Vijay in Bollywood. Liger is directed by Puri Jagannadh and co-produced by Karan Johar. The movie is slated to release on 25th August 2022.
