Akshay Kumar’s much-awaited film Laxmii has finally been released on Disney Plus Hotstar. It is a comedy horror film directed by Raghava Lawrence who also wrote, directed, produced and even acted in the original Tamil version titled ‘Kanchana’. Though Kanchana was highly appreciated in every aspect, Laxmii has failed to meet people’s expectations. Not only it has received negative reviews from critics, but people are showing their disappointment in every possible way. Be it giving low ratings on IMDB or posting funny memes on Twitter, the film is trending for all the wrong reasons.

The film has also sparked a Hindu-Muslim debate. People are bashing the film for demeaning Hindu culture and promoting Love Jihad.
The film was initially titled ‘Laxmmi Bomb’ but the makers had to change its title to ‘Laxmii’ after received backlash and legal notice from Karni Sena and other Hindu groups. Several people are offended after watching the film and are giving low ratings to the film on IMDB.
