Laxmi Agarwal’s lawyer Aparna Bhat to file a case on Deepika Padukone and team Chhapaak

Film chhapaak being in controversies even before it has released from #boycottchhapaak to now the recent one added is a case filed on Deepika and team chhapaak by the lawyer of Laxmi Agarwal.

The story of Laxmi Agarwal’s success, Chhapaak, by Deepika PadukoneVikrant Massey, is all set to hit the cinema screens tomorrow. The actress has been controversy as joined the protests against JNU Violence in Delhi with #BoycottChapaak trending on twitter. however, it only helped to somehow spread the word. Now, things seem to take a toll as Laxmi’s lawyer to take legal proceedings against the directorial of Meghna Gulzar.

Advocate Aparna Bhat, who was a lawyer of acid attack Laxmi Agarwal in court, is disturbed by Chhapaak, starring Deepika Padukone, and led by Meghna Gulzar. Bhat lodged a complaint at a Delhi court against the filmmakers seeking an immediate order stating she is not given proper recognition or credit for her work. The court has now mandated Chhapaak’s producers to give Aparna credit prior to release.

Chhapaak is inspired by the life of Laxmi, and Deepika plays a Laxmi-based character Malti in the movie. Bhat’s complaint is that in the credits of the film, the filmmakers did not give her due acknowledgment. In the case fought at Patiala House Courts, the prosecutor, who played a key role, in reality, to assure justice was served with Laxmi, took to Facebook and wrote a few posts to express her wrath.

Bhat stated in her Facebook post: “Have never been the one to demand attention to my work. Deeply disturbed by the turn of events post watching Chhapaak. Compelled to take legal action to protect my identity and preserve my integrity. I represented Lakshmi in her criminal trial in Patiala House Courts… tomorrow someone will represent me in my cause…Ironies of life.”

A lot of people came out in support of Bhat as soon as she put up the post. She wrote another message, overwhelmed by the encouragement: “I thank all my friends who endorsed my contribution and challenged team Chhapaak in failing to say even “Thank you!!a. I cannot match the powers of these mighty producers of Bollywood but keeping quiet will further endorse injustice. I have decided to take my cause to the next level. Ready to face the consequences.”

This is now the second controversy that ignited in a single day over Chhapaak. Later on Wednesday, the news that the character of the real-life acid attacker was changed from Naeem Khan to Rajesh in the film to preserve the religious identity of the suspect was filled with social media and WhatsApp. However, Wednesday’s pre-release screenings disclosed that the attacker’s name, Nadeem was changed to Basheer.
