In her recent interview with a veteran bollywood journalist from a leading digital entertainment portal, opening up on how difficult it was for her to get to that level of physical resemblance of the original character and also mentioning about how quickly she grabbed this golden chance and opportunity to play role of former Indian PM Indira Gandhi without taking into consideration the length of the role, Lara Dutta said, “It wouldn’t have been possible without the efforts of a brilliant makeup and prosthetics team. I had to spend three hours in the makeup chair”.

Also talking about how she had during course of her research actually spoken to someone really close to her and former Indian PM Indira Gandhi for her character, shared, “I studied a lot of videos and I got inputs from my father who was Mrs Gandhi’s personal pilot in the airforce. He gave me a lot of insight on her”.
