After giving Samrat Prithviraj, Bollywood actor Akshay Kumar is already with his upcoming film ‘Raksha Bandhan’. Taking to Instagram, the actor announced the release date of the film which will be released on the same day as Aamir Khan’s film Laal Singh Chaddha.
Akshay Kumar Announces Raksha Bandhan Release Date
Bollywood actor Akshay Kumar’s film Raksha Bandhan will hit the theatres on 11th August, the film will star Bhumi Pednekar along with Akshay Kumar. While announcing the release date of the film on Instagram, Akshay wrote, “Bringing you all a story of the purest form of bond that will remind you of yours! #RakshaBandhan releasing in cinemas on 11th August 2022.” While the lead actress Bhumi Pednekar also shared the video.
Reacting to the announcement, Bollywood actress Sara Ali Khan shared the video in her Instagram stories and wrote “can’t wait to celebrate my birthday with my dearest @anandlrai sir, @akshaykumar, @bhumipednekar@cypplofficial…”. While the fans also shared their reactions to the video and showered the post with heart emojis.
Raksha Bandhan To Clash With Laal Singh Chaddha
Meanwhile now it seems that Raksha Bandhan won’t be releasing alone on 11th August as Aamir Khan and Kareena Kapoor Khan’s much-anticipated film Laal Singh Chaddha is also scheduled to release on 11th August. Laal Singh Chaddha will be featuring Aamir Khan the character of a slow-witted person who struggles with his optimism as shown in the trailer, meanwhile, along with him Bollywood actress Kareena Kapoor Khan will also be seen in the film will play the role of his lover, while Mona Singh who has collaborated with both the actors during 3 idiots will now be seen playing Aamir Khan’s mother in the film.

Akshay Kumar’s Raksha Bandhan will be a comedy-drama film that revolves around the love and attachment between brother-sister, the film also star Bhumi Pednekar. The film is directed by Aanand L. Rai. While this will mark the second collaboration of Akshay Kumar and Bhumi Pednekar on screen, the duo was earlier seen in the film ‘Toilet: Ek Prem Katha’.
Meanwhile, Akshay wrapped up the shooting of the film in October last year. He shared a picture with the director and wrote, “Here’s to all I and @aanandlrai did throughout the shoot of #RakshaBandhan – laugh like there’s no tomorrow! Ironically, as we wrapped the film last night, there was a bittersweet tinge of sadness. Off to the next. New day, new roller coaster.”
On the work front, Akshay Kumar was last seen in Prithviraj which unfortunately didn’t work at the box office much as it was expected, while the actor also has Mission Cinderella, Ram Setu, Selfiee, OMG 2 in the pipeline.
