Kubbra Sait Recalls When People Told Bollywood Is Full Of Monsters And Demons

Kubbra Sait was cautioned that Bollywood is the worst place and that she should pack off and go

Kubbra Sait opened up about her early days as an actor when she stepped into the industry. Sait was cautioned about Bollywood while beginning her acting career. She recalled people told her that Bollywood is full of ‘monsters and demons’. Kubbra first appeared in a Hindi film playing a small role in Salman Khan’s Ready. She later featured in Sultan, Jawaani Jaaneman, Dolly Kitty Aur Woh Chamakte Sitare, and City Of Life.

She welcomed web projects with wide arms which turned out to be her breakthrough role. Kubbra Sait received widespread recognition for her role in Sacred Games which marks her first web show. Her performance as Kukoo against Nawazuddin Siddiqui was critically acclaimed in Netflix’s original show Sacred Games.

The Jawaani Jaaneman star recalled the time when she was suggested to return as it is the worst place when she entered the industry in 2011. She was warned that Bollywood is the worst place to be in and that she should pack her stuff and return. However, now when she looks back she thinks it is the most empathetic place you can be in.

In an interview with CNBC, she said, “When I came to this industry, I was told that this is the worst place to be in and that I should just pack off and go. But now when I look back, I could not have been in a more noble profession. It lets you tell stories and live other people’s lives. It’s the most empathetic place you can be in. And people recognise you for that, for the experience you are having. I think it’s a great place to be in.”

Kubbra added, “I was told that this place is full of monsters and demons and that I should not come but I always look at it as the city of dreams. However, if it does or has turned into a nightmare for you, then I think the first thing you need to do is reflect upon your journey. A large part of forgiveness comes into it. It’s not for anyone else but yourself. That’s the most important because perpetrators will do what perpetrators do. If we are above them, we still have a chance to fight them.”

Apart from acting Kubbra made her debut as an author on June 27. She penned stories from her life in a book titled ‘Open Book’.
