Cricketer KL Rahul and actor Athiya Shetty have finally tied knot at her father Suniel Shetty’s farmhouse in Khandala on Monday, January 23. The couple looked gorgeous in pastel ethnic outfits. While the couple and their families have been tight lipped about the wedding, the buzz was that the wedding festivities began on Saturday. Reportedly, both have been dating since 2019 and have kept their relationship successfully under wraps.
Monday evening father-of-the-bride Suniel Shetty confirmed the wedding to the media. Suneil Shetty revealed that wedding ceremony attended only by the very closest of the Shettys’ family and friends, was “beautiful,”. He can be heard saying that the “father-in-law chakkar” should be dispensed with so that just the ‘father’ bit remains. “In-law ka chakkar agar hat jaye aur agar father hi rahu toh bhaut khoobsurat hai, kyunki woh part main bhaut ache se nibhaata hoon (It would be great to dispense with ‘in-law’ and have ‘father’ remain because that’s a responsibility I discharge well),” he said. Suniel Shetty also also said that a wedding reception will likely take place after the IPL season ends.
Suniel Shetty and son Ahan also distributed sweets to the media stationed all day outside his Khandala farmhouse where the ceremony took place.
