KJo Reveals Rishi Kapoor Was Upset After Deepika & Sonam Said This About Ranbir

Karan Johar reveals how Deepika and Sonam’s comments about Ranbir Kapoor on KWK had upset his father, Rishi Kapoor.

Karan Johar’s chat show ‘Koffee With Karan’ has been the hotspot for gossip and controversies for years now, the show is known for its smoking-hot confessions and conversations with some of the top celebs of the B-town. However, many times the statements of a few celebrities have aroused much buzz among the audience. Referring to the same KJo recently admitted that at times he had stepped in to douse the fire.

Karan Johar Reveals Deepika & Sonam’s Comment Made Rishi Kapoor Upset

Like many other celebrities, Deepika Padukone and Sonam Kapoor also grabbed the attention of the viewers during their appearance in KWK season 3. In which both the actresses were seen roasting ‘Shamshera’ actor Ranbir Kapoor. Referring to the same show host Karan Johar recently said in an interview how Deepika and Sonam’s comments about Ranbir Kapoor had upset his father, Rishi Kapoor.

He said, “Many times, it has happened that I had to step in to douse the fire after rapid-fire. I remember when Sonam Kapoor and Deepika Padukone came to the show and spoke whatever they had to, Chintu ji (Rishi Kapoor) was very upset. I had to step in to make things alright. I have shows banned and taken off air, which I felt terrible for,”.

In yet another interview, KJo admitted that Deepika and Sonam might have overstated things. He said, “I remember when Sonam and Deepika came together many seasons ago, I had a feeling ‘oops’ they’ve overstated things and I have also allowed it. I had a feeling about that, but now with time, we are all being extra careful,”.

For the unversed, Deepika and Sonam appeared on the show in 2010, during which both were seen taking several digs at Ranbir Kapoor. When Karan asked Deepika what she would like to gift Ranbir, she answered, “A box of condoms.” Subsequently, when he asked if there was any advice that she’d like to give him, she said that he should endorse condom brands. On the other hand, Sonam had said that she wasn’t sure if Ranbir would make for a good boyfriend. Karan stated that the actress’s statement had left late veteran actor Rishi Kapoor very upset.

Koffee with Karan Season 7 has now started streaming on Disney+ Hotstar, the first episode of the show featured Alia Bhatt with Ranveer Singh, and the episode has now garnered more than 12 million views, meanwhile, the trailer of the second episode was also released in which Janhvi Kapoor and Sara Ali Khan were seen sharing the red couch.
