Kiara Advani Says Jug Jugg Jeeyo Was A Ray Of Sunshine During Pandemic

Kiara Advani recalls Jug Jugg Jeeyo gave her hope during tough times

Kiara Advani is climbing success stairs with consecutive movies. Debuting in Fugly she went on to deliver some hits like Kabir Singh, Good Newzz, Shershah and now her recent release Bhool Bhuliyaa 2 is creating a buzz. Receiving, frequent projects Kiara Advani is now busy promoting the upcoming movie Jug Jugg Jeeyo. 

Her last release Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 is currently ruling the box office reaching the 175 crores mark. The horror-comedy stars Kartik Aaryan and Tabu alongside Kiara Advani. The actress shared her thoughts on receiving the love and success for the horror-comedy. She told to PTI: “When you work on a film for a long time, and the audience gives this kind of love, it’s fulfilling, motivating. Even for the industry, it’s an encouraging sign to see the audience turn up in huge numbers. This success feels gratifying and has empowered me more.” 

Advani completed eight years in the industry and credited Anees Bazmee for giving her more confidence. The 29-year-old jumped straight into the promotions of ‘Jugjugg Jeeyo’ before she could celebrate the success of ‘Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2’. She added: “I didn’t have the time to think about success. After every hit of mine, I’ve jumped to work almost immediately. I have never sat, relaxed and celebrated the success of any film… Work has always kept coming and I enjoy it. When there’s so much love and work, that is my celebration.”

Kiara Advani recalled the time when she was offered the Dharma Production’s Jug Jugg Jeeyo during the global pandemic. Talking about working on the family drama the Guilty actress mentioned that the offer came as a ray of sunshine in tough times. “We all have gone through such an intense experience (in the pandemic) that I wanted to do something that spread the warmth. This one (film) is exactly that,” she further said.

Jug Jugg Jeeyo is directed by Raj Mehta and produced by Karan Johar under the banner of Dharma Production. The comedy-drama movie based on the social subject of divorce also stars Varun Dhawan, Neetu Kapoor, and Anil Kapoor in pivotal roles. 

Post the success of Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2, Kiara hopes to stay consistent at the box office. She said: “I want to deliver hits. Movie making is a business, which involves so much commerce from the producers. Varun and I are going all out to promote it because we want to give you that Friday (opening), that good Saturday. I am hoping and praying that I be consistent at the box office, and I’m working hard to achieve that.”
